A Simple Two-Step Approach
Step #1: Find out
what your parents really think through the
Parent
Satisfaction and Referral Survey (PSRS).
This low-impact,
internet-based survey takes 3 to 5 minutes to complete. Within three weeks, you will know:
***Satisfaction and
willingness to refer for your school, both overall and
broken out over two dozen categories,
***Parents' praise and concerns about your school:
in their own words and broken out by category,
***A list of who actually promotes your school,
and
***Dozens of potential promoter testimonials for your
literature and website.
Step #2: Develop a full parent quality survey. Using several dozen pages of comments by
Promoters, Passives,
and Detractors, either you or a GraceWorks consultant can design
a full yearly quality parent survey.
The comments of PSRS provide
a far better foundation than focus groups to construct your
yearly parent quality survey, for three reasons:
(1) Much more input. In a PSRS, you will typically
hear from 30% to 40% of your current parents ... as well as
teachers, board members, staff, volunteers, past parents ... and
students themselves. Hundreds compared to 2 or 3 dozen in
a few focus groups.
(2) No group dynamics to
go awry. The PSRS provides an opportunity for everyone
to share what is on their mind, without the coercion or
intimidation of strong personalities in a group setting.
(3) Categorized
information. The PSRS not only tells you the overall
satisfaction of parents by grade, but the comments themselves are
organized that way, grouped by Promoters, Passives, and
Detractors. Want to know why 3rd grade parents are less
satisfied than the school as a whole? All their comments
are found on about three pages. Categorized information is
extremely helpful in determining what to ask at both the primary and
secondary levels.

Besides ordering
the PSRS, you can now order GraceWorks' own
time-saving survey scoring systems for a reasonable price.
Paper
Surveys: Use GraceWorks' own proprietary software to
enable an unlimited number of volunteers and computers to input
your survey data. GraceWorks sets up the entire survey at
the beginning, and completely scores it at the end, producing
tables and graphs. Only $595 per survey
for an unlimited number of respondents. (Includes
differential questions!)
Internet-Based Surveys: GraceWorks' internet-based
system is also now available to Christian schools. As with the
paper survey, GraceWorks sets you up completely at the
beginning, and scores the survey at the end. Only $595 per
survey for an unlimited number of respondents. Includes
the ability to ask questions conditionally. (For example,
questions specific to current parents only, or secondary

parents.

appropriate for your board, and a reproducible summary
